Bat Mitzvah ceremony
When the prayer shawl is spread over the head of the Bat Mitzvah girl, accompanied by Jewish soul music players, we shall march and form an exciting procession with singing and dancing along the alleys of Safed towards the ancient synagogue, to the ceremony in which a young girl will become an adolescent. We will read the special Bat Mitzvah scroll prepared with her in advance. The musicians, the cantor and the host will make sure to make this experience exciting and unforgettable.
Breakfast
You can choose between “coffee and pastry”, which includes hot and cold drinks (before and after the prayer) and a selection of fresh salty and sweet pastries, and a “Safed-style breakfast”, which includes hot and cold drinks, fresh breads and rolls, plates with a variety of Safed cheeses straight from the local dairy, sliced vegetables with dips and other surprises.
A magical tour of the alleys
The Safed experience is hidden in the alleys, synagogues, galleries, stories and legends.
After the ceremony and breakfast, we will take a tour, during which we will become acquainted with many of the charming faces of the Old City of Safed. We will hear the fascinating stories about the ancient buildings of Safed and its unique historical sites and visit some of the ancient synagogues and Kabbalah art galleries. During the tour, the guide will provide unique contents dedicated to the Bar Mitzvah, such as the transition from childhood to adulthood, the meaning of Bar Mitzvah from the traditional and Kabbalah perspective and more.
Otzar HaSTam - Bar Mitzvah Presentation
The new Visitor Center is dedicated to STam (Torah, Tefillin and Mezuzah). Various sophisticated audiovisual displays will take you on a magical journey following the STam scribes and mysteries of the tefillin and the Book of Torah.
Creation of the world – a 3D presentation – Ma’amad Har Sinai – 180-degrees giant screen – hologram of a STam scribe in ancient Egypt – interactive trivia game – writing workshop using a quill pen on real parchment and more.
Hafrashat Challah Ceremony
Together with the Bat Mitzvah girl, we will sift the flour, sing and prepare the dough, and then we will carry out the challah separation, bless the girl and at this stage, aunts and uncles will be able to approach and bless the girl as well.
Afterwards, we shall have a festive meal in an ancient stone building in the Old City or in the hall of Otsar HaSTam.
